45^th REUNION and 80^th ANNIVERSARY

Once a Buffalo, always a Buffalo and this year it’s a double hitter!  The Class of ’61 celebrates its 45^th Reunion, Friday night, October 27 and Milby’s 80^th Anniversary, Saturday, October 28.  Still a top educational facility, last year Milby ranked in the top three HISD high schools for the most scholarship monies received by graduating seniors.  So come celebrate our past and Milby’s past and future together!

The reunion committee has planned a ’61 reunion evening at the Doubletree Hotel downtown with food, drink, dancing and visiting on Friday night.  This will allow everyone to participate in Saturday’s anniversary memory events with friends from other classes as well.  Attend the homecoming football game with Bellaire and afterwards return to Milby for James Coney Island hot dogs, a sock hop, dedication ceremony and school tour.

The $30.00 per person includes your game ticket, bus transport from the hotel to the ball game, to activities at Milby and return to the hotel.  Food and anniversary souvenir caps and T-shirts are not included.  The bus is optional as you may provide your own transport for any of these activities.  Game tickets at the stadium are $7.00.  For anyone who prefers to opt out of any or all of the anniversary activities, a hospitality room (Nautile Room) located on the lobby floor, will be available Saturday.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS:  A limited number of rooms have been reserved at a discounted rate of $129.00 per night for October 27 and October 28.  The reservations need to be made no later than October 6.   Reservations received after that cut-off date will be accepted on space and rate availability basis.  Please call the Doubletree direct at 713/759-0202.  Be sure to take advantage of the discounted rate by identifying yourself as a part of the 1961 Milby 45^th Class Reunion.
